Desktop Support Administrator

Job Description:

As a member of the Client Technology Services Team, the Desktop Support Administrator is responsible for the support of Vistaprint’s computer- based information systems, particularly as it relates to the installation and maintenance of software applications and computer hardware. The ideal candidate has extensive experience and demonstrable knowledge in conducting software/hardware upgrades and troubleshooting common IT issues which contribute to the overall improved quality level and efficiency of Vistaprint’s business operations.  

 

Responsibilities:   

  • Serve as the primary contact for diagnosing and resolving all desktop/laptop, blackberry and printer issues
  • Troubleshoot and solve general IT issues (password resets, computer hardware failures, software installations, access requests, etc.)
  • Install and maintain functionality for all peripheral deployment and presentation technologies
  • Implement security policies while carrying out desktop support
  • Work on additional projects as needed

Skills Required

 

      Working knowledge of:

  • Hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Peripheral deployment and diagnostics
  • Active Directory
  • Video Conferencing technologies
  • Anti-Virus technologies
  • Spyware removal and prevention
  • Symantec Ghost or other imaging software
  • Warranty repair and RMA coordination
  • VOIP Phone troubleshooting
  • Basic LAN topologies, etc.
  • Server and Desktop operating systems

 Additional Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A+, Microsoft or other Desktop/Systems Administration certification
  • 3+ years of desktop support and/or desktop administration supporting large scale infrastructures ( 500+ desktop servers)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in documenting standard procedures and following verbal and written instructions
  • Must be able to prioritize responsibilities, work well independently and harmoniously in a team environment
  • Ability to react quickly in an ever-changing environment.
  • Lifting is a consistent requirement of this job
  • Must be able to work on week-ends
