The Site Controller is responsible for preparation of financial and operating reports along with responsibility for all accounting activities, often including general accounting, accounts payable, taxes, statutory requirements and labor reporting, within a growing design, sales and customer support location in Montego Bay. This individual will also supervise local insurance and risk management programs, as needed. Position reports to the Global Controller, however, as this position is part of the local management team, candidate needs to be adept at translating operational drivers into financial metrics in order to measure performance and recommendations for improvement. Key responsibilities include the following areas: - Develops and maintains total accounting system for Vistaprint Jamaica following Vistaprint’s defined formulas, formats and policies
- Prepares capital and operating budgets and continually monitors their progress
- Ensures that general ledgers and financial statements for the Montego Bay facility are prepared punctually and accurately
- Ensures compliance with local regulatory requirements, including ensuring accurate and timely statutory filings
- Continually reviews spending and controls as appropriate.
- Provides cost and benefit analysis and help coordinate activities on all continuous improvement efforts
- Reviews and analyzes results and prepares commentaries as required
- Interacts continuously with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function of the Business Unit and Corporate team
- Leads capital expenditure assessments including financial justification (NPV cash flow, payback; validation of Business Plans from a financial perspective)
- Works together / share knowledge with the Finance teams in other Vistaprint locations in order to deliver best practices
- Oversight of accounting operational areas such as accounts payable, as well as the staff accounting team.
- Other: Travel to various Vistaprint locations as necessary
The Person The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of financial management experience in multi-national companies, with experience in a service center environment a plus. The person’s background should include core competencies in IFRS and US GAAP accounting, statutory reporting, financial planning and SOX compliance. The Jamaican Controller will have a well-rounded leadership and management background, including: - Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally (across operating functions and geographic locations) and with Senior Management;
- Experience with large ERP system required, SAP experience preferred;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, CPA, or equivalent, preferred.
