Associate Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis

Job Description:

 

The Associate Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis will join the North America finance team serving a $400 million dollar business, spanning marketing, manufacturing, call centers, and technology development. Initial objectives for the successful candidate will be to analyze gross margin (marketing and manufacturing), deliver consistent value through a series of initiatives and capitalize on early successes by expanding into new areas. The focus of the Associate Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis will be on delivery through efficiency, expertise, and collaboration, creating short-term value and long-term vision with our business partners.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Partner with North American manufacturing and marketing in understanding gross margin
  • Provide strategic and operational decision support to business partners
  • Develop world-class ability to understand manufacturing costs
  • Provide ROI analysis on projects and investments
  • Perform financial modeling that integrates business intelligence, analytics and operational models to bridge financial and operational perspectives
  • Develop deep business knowledge and collaborate in identifying opportunities, analyzing projects  and setting targets
  • Identify and sponsor KPIs relevant for the business
  • Participate in forecasting and closing processes, enhancing systematization of reporting and self-service in both areas
  • Benchmark financial results and trends against relevant internal metrics and external comparables
  • Develop reports to facilitate self-service by business owners and project managers
  • Collaborate with other business units and Corporate Finance in financial tools analysis

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • High-caliber education, with relevant advanced degree or credential, is preferred 
  • Firm grasp of finance and a working knowledge of microeconomics and statistics
  • Experience analyzing gross margin
  • Prior exposure to manufacturing operations is preferred
  • Experience in costing is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills including knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, and a passion for clarity and consistency in executive presentations
  • Experience with financial planning systems (SAP/BPC, Hyperion) is preferred
  • Experience in integrating data sources, reporting, multicurrency, project management, change management and working in a team environment is highly desired
  • Ability to travel to internal operations (<15%)
  • Self-confident, possesses initiative, drive, and an unbounded commitment to growth for oneself and others
  • Strong service orientation founded on inquiry-based collaboration and informed by continuous feedback
  • Strong delivery focus that translates concepts and ideas into a defined scope and reliably delivers insights

  • Effective time management skills with the ability to handle multiple work streams, projects, learning and financial planning against deadlines
  • Ability to systemize repeatable processes and integrate insights from outside Vistaprint
