Job Summary

Job Description

You will be responsible for supporting manufacturing processes and step change improvements, as well as applying best practices and lessons learned on optimizing both existing and new product process flows in the Binning Area.
 
Your role will involve: 
- Responsibility for safety risk assessment updates, including hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies for the health and safety of both company staff and the wider community
- Collaborating with a global or local project team on developing timelines, action register and equipment/process installation plans including Quality, Health & Safety, Supply chain, Logistics, Facility and & Project Engineering.  Follow up on monthly Safety / Quality / 5S audit action items.
- Assisting production with daily escalation issues
- Managing physical equipment layout, new installations and supporting process layout planning
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives leading cross-functional teams to identify sources of waste and implement changes
- Developing and improving labour standards and routings
- Establishing and maintaining work standards for product costing and productivity measurement
- Developing with cost benefit analysis
- Utilizing custom software to configure product flow in the area
- Conducting root cause analysis as required
- Developing improvements to enhance process reliability, maintainability and scalability
In return you will bring: 
- BASc or equivalent preferably in Industrial Engineering
- 5 years of manufacturing experience (preferably in a lean high production manufacturing environment)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures and machinery
- Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principals
- Ability to demonstrate task management and timeline control
- Preference will be given to those who possess an excellent manufacturing or process engineering background
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels and positions within the organization
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project and AutoCAD, SQL
- Excellent knowledge of Ontario regulations and standards for industrial establishments
